In August 2009, Investment Surveyor, Charles Curtis, at niche investment agency Finn & Co., together with Sara Brooks, a Jones Lang LaSalle Surveyor, set up ’Young Surveyors – The Next Generation’. Tim Monger-Godfrey who works in CBRE's Real Estate Finance team and Alex Springer who works at Knight Frank joined the Young Surveyors team in 2010 and 2011 respectively.

During a time when the credit crunch and subsequent downturn in the property market had affected many people in the industry, the group was established to provide young surveyors with the opportunity to network with like minded individuals.

Since its formation Young Surveyors have hosted several networking evenings, breakfast events with industry leaders as guest speakers, and a speed networking event. The Young Surveyors database now consists of over 1500 young surveyors and professionals from around the country.
